    Team Focus: Team Debrecen

Team Debrecen enter the Youth BCL as the host team and the first ever Hungarian team in the Youth BCL.

DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Team Debrecen enter the Youth BCL as the host team and the first ever Hungarian team in the Youth BCL.

The roster is made up of the best Hungarian players in the U18 age group that play inside the country, drawing from a pool of players mostly playing in the Sopron, Debrecen, Hongved, and Ratgeber academies.

Head Coach Akos Petho is excited to be putting together a team to represent Hungary at this level.

"We are very happy to play and compete at this level. We don't just want to compete though, we want to show ourselves as Hungarian basketball players and represent our home," he said.

On the floor, the style of play Team Debrecen are hoping for should be distinguishable from the tempo and whilst it's never easy to construct a roster and turn it into a team in such a short period of time, the fact that many of these players are teammates in their academies certainly helps.

"We want to be physical, we will try to play with a quick pace and we have to build on the chemistry of the players that know each from their clubs," Petho explained.
